Lee House Rental Details

Imagine your wedding, retirement celebration, anniversary, employee appreciation party, family reunion, or other social event in the historic H. Lee House, located in beautiful Treganza Heritage Park. This classic, 1928 Tudor Revival exudes the comforting charm found only in an older home. Unique architectural details, the private, rear “Gazebo Courtyard,” festive nighttime lighting, rose garden and fountain make the H. Lee House a superb setting for your special day. RENTAL INFORMATION

The Great Room seats 32 for dining, 45 for audience events and 75 for standing assembly. The out-door Gazebo Courtyard is 1,500 square feet with a 1,000 square foot grass and brick area and a 500 square foot gazebo accessed both by a wheelchair ramp and two steps. The courtyard is fenced and gated. The Courtyard seats 100 for dining and holds 150 for assembly and/or audience events.

NOTE: Renters with Alcohol must hire licensed, uniformed security for their events and file written proof along with the contract and deposit. *(A wedding reservation includes a one-hour planning meeting and two-hour wedding rehearsal.  Additional meetings and/or overtime are billed at $100 per hour. Other events include a half-hour planning meeting.  Rental fees are for 4 and 8 hours maximum including set-up and clean-up.  Tables, chairs, and two 24-cup coffee urns are  included in the rental fee, but you may rent your own furnishings, dance floor, etc., and arrange for a  delivery/pickup time within the rental period.  We do not supply linens. Note: All events muse be cleaned up and off premises by 10:00 pm.

There are no public restrooms inside the H. Lee House, and no access to the second floor. The first floor is handicapped accessible as is the rear Gazebo Courtyard and its spacious restrooms. The attractive kitchen is  for staging only (no cooking). Historical Society personnel unlock the house 15 minutes before the start of the rental period and lock up at the end of the rental period after reviewing the condition of the facility with the renter.  Deposits will be returned by check within a 2-week period.

The H. Lee House is a California State Historic Site that is maintained and operated by the Historical Society. Because the house is an historic site, nothing can be attached to the interior or exterior of the building. The Gazebo Courtyard can be decorated (no hammering, no sticky tape). No smoking in or near the facility, or in any public park in Lemon Grove.
