The 48th Season of “History Alive” Lecture Series!
Helen Ofield, Katy Strzelecki & Jan LaValle will present:
“Ladies of the Lemon Grove Mural” September 4, at 7:00 pm at the Lee House Cultural Center.
Pre-Lecture: Please join the LGHS at the Parsonage Museum at 6:00pm for a special Grand Opening Social to be held prior to our 7:00pm History Alive Lecture.
On September 4 at 6:00pm, LGHS will host a special Grand Opening Social at the Parsonage Museum. Come and see original artwork for the mural, have a glass of wine and a snack prior to the History Alive 7:00 pm lecture.
Stay to hear the story of the award winning Lemon Grove Historical Society Mural as told by the people who made it happen. Lecturers include Past President and LGHS Historian Helen Ofield without whose ideas and planning we would not have the visual history of tour town; and artists Katy Strzelecki and Jan LaValle whose talent and perseverance created Lemon Grove from prehistory through modern times. Come and immerse yourself in never heard stories of the 8-year project that adorns the historic building that was once the Lemon Grove Bakery and is now the Lemon Grove Bistro.
History Alive is a free Lecture Series presented by the Lemon Grove Historical Society. Lectures are held at the H. Lee House Cultural Center on the 1st Thursday of the month. H. Lee House is located at 3205 Olive St. in the Treganza Heritage Park where there is ample, well-lit parking. History Alive is suitable for ages 16 and over.
