The LGHS presents its free lecture series HISTORY ALIVE April 3, 2025, 7:00 pm
Featuring Sondra Bonura “John D. Spreckels and the Making of San Diego.”
On April 3rd at 7:00 pm, Come hear local author Sandra Bonura talk about her popular book Empire Builder: John D. Spreckels and the Making of San Diego. This colorful presentation chronicles the life of a forgotten pioneer who almost single-handedly built San Diego. He was at the forefront of innovation and at the top of the 20th century, one in 15 San Diegans worked for a Spreckels-owned company.
History Alive is a free Lecture Series presented by the Lemon Grove Historical Society. Lectures are held at the H. Lee House Cultural Center on the 1st Thursday of the month. H. Lee House is located at 3205 Olive St. in the Treganza Heritage Park where there is ample, well-lit parking. History Alive is suitable for ages 16 and over.
