Please join us at the Lee House Cultural Center on November 7th at 7:00 pm to hear Bob Gans as he shares his parents thought-provoking story, supplemented by a display of artifacts and original documents.
The Story of Greta Taussig and Rudy Gans
What does it take to survive persecution and exile? The store of Greta Taussing and Rudy Gans offers answers to this tantalizing questions. Born in Linz Austria, Greta emigrated to London after the country’s incorporation into the Third Reich, eventually enduring the horrors of the Blitz. Rudy was able to make his way to Shanghai after imprisonment in the notorious Dachau Concentration Camp. Along their arduous journey, each experienced the life saving kindness of courageous strangers. Come here their fascinating story.
History Alive is a free Lecture Series presented by the Lemon Grove Historical Society. Lectures are held at the H. Lee House Cultural Center on the 1st Thursday of the month. H. Lee House is located at 3205 Olive St. in the Treganza Heritage Park where there is ample, well-lit parking. History Alive is suitable for ages 16 and over.
