“Josephine Waite – 1899-1922: Portrait of a Lemon Grove Farm Girl ”

In honor of American Archives month, board member Sarah Lewis will share her research based on the Waite Family Papers, an archival collection held by The Lemon Grove Historical Society. Using Josephine’s tender letters to her father and many beautiful photos from the collection, Sarah will share insights into our local history and the role of women in the booming citrus industry of the early 20th century.
History Alive is a free Lecture Series presented by the Lemon Grove Historical Society. Lectures are held at the H. Lee House Cultural Center on the 1st Thursday of the month. H. Lee House is located at 3205 Olive St. in the Treganza Heritage Park where there is ample, well-lit parking. History Alive is suitable for ages 16 and over.
